What you have to try and do

To begin with you require the ADB Tool and you will need the proper update file for the device you own and also the build number of existing firmware. Then Unzip the ADB Tool on computer, go-to that folder, hold down the Shift key and right click anywhere in the empty space of Explorer window. Select the “Open Command Prompt Here”. Now, just copy the required update file to the ADB Tool directory and rename this like Nexus-4-4-2.zip.

Next, connect the Nexus to the PC by using a USB cable, and type the following command on previous invoked command prompt window.

adb sideload nexus-4-4-2.zip
