Apple released iOS 8.2 public version for all the latest iOS devices a week ago after several beta versions to support Apple Watch toolkit. As the Apple company is approaching to minimize the use of previous firmware versions and company already stopped signing iOS 8.1.2 a couple of days back, which means that nobody can upgrade, downgrade or restore the iOS 8.1.2 until unless users already saved SHSH blobs before. But we got the news that TinyUmbrella beta released to support saving iOS 8.2 SHSH blobs, check out more detail here.
The Developer of TinyUmbrella Semaphore also known as @notcom confirmed that TinyUmbrella has been entirely re-written from scratch actually to support the latest iOS devices including iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iOS versions including iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3. This version of TinyUmbrella is now available in beta and it requires Java.
TinyUmbrella Beta Released To Support Saving iOS 8.2 SHSH Blobs
TinyUmbrella is one of the most popular tool for saving the SHSH blobs which make very easy for iOS user to downgrade or restore their iOS device. Apple is patching the loop holes to close the downgrade window for iOS devices. But semaphore give some hint that it will be change very soon.
I would not have updated TU if there wasn’t at least a moderately good reason to. So, no it is not useless to save them.

This new TinyUmbrella tool is simplified which is giving a new single button to save all the device SHSH blobs. As a screenshot is provided here showing the saved SHSH blobs for both the iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3 of iPhone 6.
The most interesting thing about this as the developer has pointed out that the downgrade window will be opened for old iOS versions while using the SHSH blobs. It will be definitely a major breakthrough to downgrade to such a firmware which is jailbreakable say iOS 8.1.2 with custom IPSW file.
