Install Cydia After iOS 8 – 8.1 Pangu Jailbreak [How-To]

Everybody shocked to know that one thing is missing after iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 jailbreak using Pangu and that is the mostly used Cydia app, as we already mentioned in our previous post that after jailbreak the iOS 8 device Cydia will not be installed automatically. Thanks God that Saurik aka Jay Freeman the found of Cydia provided the update for Cydia and you can easily install the Cydia after the jailbreak manually as Pangu team is hopefully give some update to their jailbreak however in mean while you just try solution.

Warning: We understand that the process below is quite complex, unless you’re familiar with SFTP and SSH. It also involves running commands as root, which can be risky. So we ask you to proceed with caution, and discourage you from installing Cydia the manual way unless absolutely necessary. You should also backup your device, if you haven’t already, should anything go wrong.

Install Cydia After iOS 8 – 8.1 Pangu Jailbreak [How-To]

  • Simply launch the Pangu app and download & install OpenSSH

  • Now download the latest Cydia file [link], and cydia-Iproj file [link]
  • Both your iOS device and PC/Mac are connected on same Wi-Fi and then just find your device IP address by navigating into Settings app – > Wi-Fi – > and click “i” button (near to Wi-Fi network)
  • Now start the WinSCP  or Cyberduck and try to SSH into your device via above IP,with username “root” and password “alpine
  • The moment the file browser open just drag and drop the .deb files in device root folder
  • Now to open SSH command line hit ⌘ + T on Mac and hit Ctrl + T on Windows
  • Now type and run following command:

    dpkg -i cydia-lproj_1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb

  • And then type and enter following command:

dpkg -i cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb

  • A warning showing a missing dependency, download the  missing dependency from here and do the above process again to install Cydia by entering the above command once again
  • Just reboot your iOS device.

And the lovely Cydia icon will be there on your screen with Pangu jailbreak, and we hope that Pangu team will give update to their tool to make thing automatic rather than manually install the Cydia.
