How to root Android 4.4.2 KitKat on Galaxy S4

Step No 1:- First of all download CF-Auto-Root Android Package from this link for your Samsung Galaxy S4.

Step No 2:- Extract the zip file after downloading to the computer. You will get a .tar.md5 file.

Step No 3:- Now download and extract ODIN v3.09

Step No 4:- After downloading the above files, power off your device and put it in Download mode.

How To Put in Download Mode?

You can put your device in download mode by pressing and holding down the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons together. When a warning screen appears, press the Volume Up button to enter Download mode.

Step No 5:- Run Odin3 v3.09.exe as an Administrator.

Step No 6:- Connect the Galaxy S4 to the PC via USB cable.

Step No 7:- Click on the AP button, and select the CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5

Step No 8:- Now check the “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options in Odin .

Step No 9:- Star the installation process by pressing the Start button in Odin.

Step No 10:- The Galaxy S4 will restart and a PASS message with green background will appear in the left-most box at the top of Odin after completing the process.

Step No 11:- Now unplug the USB cable and disconnect the Galaxy S4 from the computer.

Done! – Once your device powers back on normally, you should have root access on your Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 running Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
