Google declared its blueprints for new update for the Android Marshmallow at an event in late September. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be available for various Nexus devices in the week (start from October 5), and Nexus device own can get the factory image at the same time. Android 6.0 Marshmallow carries some more features, some of them are support for native fingerprint scanner, Android Pay, USB Type-C, new permissions API, battery saving feature among other things.

This new update final factory image is available for Google Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player.

Google also reported that Marshmallow final release bundled up with the Marshmallow’s awesome feature Now on Tap. Google Now is on steroids with strong integrated contextual intellect. As explain by the Google:

With Now on Tap, if you tap and hold down the home button of your Android phone, Google Now will show you quick info about the movie and restaurant and help you jump into the right apps to read reviews, see the menu, and reserve a table. Once you’re done, the back button will take you right back to your messaging app so you can respond to your friend.

 

People who already have Android earlier version will get the Over The Air (OTA) update directly for Android 6.0 Marshmallow in near future. But if someone can’t wait for the OTA update can now alternatively download the Android 6.0 system image to install on their Nexus device.
